Heaven is vast. Ordered. And endlessly expanding. At its center rises the tallest building in existence, a structure responsible for overseeing all known reality. This structure has grown into something resembling a corporate entity, known simply by the name of the Realm itself: Heaven.

God serves as the conglomerate’s CEO, supported by a board of executives trusted enough to operate without constant divine intervention. Some executives are so trusted.... that God has promised never to use his powers on them. And this arrangement has functioned without issue. 

The problem, however, is not disorder. 

The problem is boredom.

The powers of omnipotence and omniscience have worn on God. As the Almighty, He knows what has been, what is, and what will come to pass. And he knows it constantly, simultaneously, without pause. God hears everything. God sees everything. God can do anything. 

And as a result, it turns out that eternity is exhausting. What once defined perfection has settled into boredom and detachment.

Not long after quelling an attempted coup by Lucifer, God decides to announce that he will be soon taking a hiatus. 

And no angel is prepared for what follows.

With God gone, Heaven falls under the control of an interim CEO, Q. She is tasked with overseeing all of reality through policy and procedure alone, yet absent any of God’s powers.

The story follows the events of the Bible in chronological order, beginning with the creation of humanity and advancing through history. The narrative reveals how many of The Bible’s defining moments do not emerge from divine will, or vengeful discipline.

But instead… the Biblical defining moments emerge from bureaucratic error, poor communication, and a long chain of unfortunate miscalculations.

Author’s Note on Style and Genre

This manuscript utilizes a deliberate, staccato, and script-like prose style. Sentence fragments and non-traditional punctuation—including the frequent use of dashes—are used to control the rhythm and pace of the narrative. This is a stylistic feature of the book, designed to create a punchy, direct, and immediate reading experience. Additionally, the work is a satire. Please evaluate the text with the understanding that both the prose style and the satirical tone are intentional.
