DaPauleLama: The Man, The Myth, The Misadventure

Credentials:
-Academic: MA in Applied Linguistics. I teach language, though I mostly just yell at students to put their phones away.
-Law Enforcement: Former Metro-Detroit cop. Three years of "serving and protecting" taught me that humans are generally chaotic, and laws are mostly suggestions.
-Entrepreneurship: Owned a bar in Thailand. This is where I learned that pouring drinks is more effective than writing citations and significantly less stressful than policing.

Philosophy:
I’ve gone from arresting suspects to analyzing syntax, with a lengthy detour through the hospitality industry in Southeast Asia. I’m currently a linguist, a former badge, a retired bar owner, and the only person you know who can diagnose a dangling participle and mix a stiff drink while explaining why your grammar is a crime. I’m essentially what happens when a life of service meets a mid-life crisis, a dictionary, and a passport.
