Burnt Ends Mystery Series

Where barbecue meets murder, and family comes first.

Jackie Prescott hasn’t spoken to her sister in years. Lauren Beniot isn’t sure she wants to start now. But when their Uncle Charlie Joe leaves them his BBQ Shack in the Texas Hill Country, his will comes with a catch. Both sisters have to live within thirty miles, work the restaurant side by side, and somehow not kill each other… or they lose everything.

Then they find out Uncle Charlie Joe didn’t die of natural causes.

Jackie is a former trial attorney who reads a crime scene like a closing argument. Lauren is a former teacher who can spot a liar from across the dining room. Lauren’s daughter Melody, a brilliant autistic forensic-science student, catches the patterns everyone else misses. They have a sheriff with more patience than he probably should have, a mother working hard to earn her second chance, and a town full of regulars who know everybody’s business. Together they serve brisket by day and solve murders by… well, also by day. The smokers start at 4:30.

Perfect for readers who love:

- Sisters learning to be family again, one argument at a time
- A small Texas town where everybody knows your business, except who did it
- Real Hill Country barbecue, smoked low and slow
- Mysteries with real teeth: cold cases, money trails, and secrets decades old
- A found family that grows with every book

Follow Jackie, Lauren, Melody, and the whole Charlie Joe’s family as they discover that the secret to good barbecue isn’t just in the recipe. It’s in the patience, love, and courage it takes to build something lasting together.
