Freak or Unique Series: The tween and teen years of middle-school and high-school can be challenging. Amity and her friends are each struggling with their own problem or condition that they cannot change that makes them feel like an outsider in a peer-pressure environment. They all think they are alone in their feelings, that they are freaks. But are they a ‘freak’ or are they ‘unique’? Together they realize that “Everyone has something. Something that makes them special and something that they struggle with. Or maybe those two things are the same thing.” So, in a way, they’re all uniquely the same. The Freak or Unique Series is a carefully crafted coming of age story for anyone that has ever felt like an outsider. Amity’s story will uplift and inspire readers and each of her friends have a story of their own to tell.
