Who am I? I’m a children’s picture book author, mom, grandma, wife, dog lover, and retired teacher, who grew up in a diverse neighborhood in the Bronx, NY where differences caused separation. Teachers encouraged us to be color-blind and also to ignore the disabilities of peers. This advice was not influenced by prejudice, but rather by ignorance. Time would make us aware that befriending peers from dissimilar backgrounds would make our world a safer, happier place.I hope adults and children will enjoy sharing my vibrantly illustrated books.a Intergenerational activities create everlasting bonds between old and young.
