Q. Can you tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to become a writer?
Ans. Before I ever dared to write my own stories, I went back to my first love: reading. Fiction and fantasy have always been where my imagination soared, so I immersed myself in them again—and in just one year, I read 77 books. Those stories reminded me of the magic books hold: the power to heal, empower, and transform. That year changed everything. Once I sat down to write my own, I was hooked. Now I write both feminine empowerment fiction—where bold, complex women step into their strength through rich, emotional, and transformative stories—and spiritual nonfiction, where I share tools for healing and hope. Each book I write is an invitation: to step into a new vision of womanhood, to embrace your voice, and to be reminded of your own power. Come turn the page with me—you just might find yourself inside the story, too.
Q. What genre(s) do you primarily write in, and what draws you to that particular genre?
Ans. I write all over the place. I've written 2 nonfiction and 3 fiction (so far). Fantasy and romance have been my focus, but I'm now writing historical fiction with romance. I just write the stories for women I'm led to and let the genres figure themselves out!
Q. What is your favorite book, and what about it resonates with you the most?
Ans. That's a tough call, but I adore Sue Monk Kidd's The Book of Longings. She is such an intricate storyteller and dared tackle a taboo subject. That rings true for me! On the spicy side of life, I love KF Breene's Ruin of Roses books because she is so creative, and they came to me at a great point in my life.
Q. Who is your favorite author, and how have they influenced your writing?
Ans. I don't know that I have a favorite - because I have so many!
Q. How do you balance writing with other aspects of your life, such as work, family, or hobbies?
Ans. I definitely try to live in balance, especially week over week. I try to follow where my energy is leading and protect my calendar for writing, creative time between clients, partners, connections, and my family. It's not easy, but when I stay true to myself, it works out.
Q. How do you show appreciation and love to your followers and readers? Do you actively engage with them on social media or through other means?
Ans. I LOVE my readers. As an indie, I love to hear from them and share what I'm reading with them. I definitely answer emails and DMS, comments, and focus on building relationships with people. And of course, there are always in-person events. I could NOT be grateful for someone to choose to read my book, and I want to hear what they have to say about it!
Q. What do you enjoy most about being an author, and what keeps you motivated to continue writing?
Ans. I have a burning passion to tell stories that shift the way we see ourselves as women, which does indeed change how the world views us. I want to read good stories, so I have to hold myself to that standard. It is an ever-growing desire to tell stories that seek the answers to questions and demonstrate a way of living that other women can connect to. I'm always learning and growing, and I love sharing that in my books, on socials, and in my speaking opportunities.
Q. Have you ever faced writer's block, and if so, how do you overcome it?
Ans. OMG yes. When I'm stuck, I ask for help. I have friends who read my books as I write them, I pay editors to help, and I have a book coach of my own. I practice what I preach. Sometimes reading another author's work is very inspiring. And sometimes, I just need to take a break because I'm trying to work the story too hard. But in the end, I keep writing. I may not use it all, but I know I will find my way through. I never let it stop me.
Q. Can you share any interesting or funny anecdotes from your writing journey?
Ans. Oh yes! My book, The Assist, was a love letter to manifest the relationship I wanted in my life. I first thought that was going to be with my (then) husband. That didn't work out, but I kept writing. Well into the writing process and after my divorce was finalized, I met the man I was writing about. I guess you could say my writing manifested him!
Q. What advice would you give to aspiring authors who are just starting their writing journey?
Ans. Write and plan for how your book will serve readers. If you have a vision for your books in the world, focus on that while you write. Books are a strategy, so use them!
Q. Do you have any upcoming projects or works in progress that you'd like to share with your readers?
Ans. YES! My next series is a historical fiction retelling of a series of women from the Old Testament in the Bible, called Becoming. As a former pastor, I am applying a decade of study and preaching to researching this book, but not telling what I've learned safely. This is a story that defines what it means to be a woman in her full power, told through the relationship of a young girl and an older woman. Through it, they discover what was missing in their lives and how to become who they were each created to be. I can't wait for it to shake up TBRs! These are not going to be your grandma's Bible Stories!
Q. Finally, what are your goals and aspirations as a writer? Where do you see yourself and your writing career in the future?
Ans. I want to have a career both telling my own stories and helping other women to tell theirs. I want to empower readers and those women who already know they want to become authors. I want to make sure I'm staying true to my calling and letting my craft develop along the way. I want cultural change, and I know stories are the way that we do that.
